The Importance of Down Time.

Heyy beautiful people. Are you someone who feels rundown after experiencing a heavy amount of "go, go, go", a constant overwhelming workload, too many social commitments, etc.? If you just nodded your head a hard "YES oh my god", I. Am. With. You. Girl. I empathize with you fully. And since my winter break just started, I feel now is the perfect time to share the importance of downtime when you're a person similar to me, who feels drained after too much "noise" within life.

As humans, we're not wired to be moving every second of the day. We are meant to have time to simply ~be~, with no agenda, no plan set in place. This can feel near impossible, especially depending on your current life season. ( Trying to keep up with school, a working parent etc.) However I firmly believe that we can all can afford time to slow down, and simply be, even if just for a few short minutes a day. It's all about creating + prioritizing that time.

Recently, I've felt superr run down, and craving some quiet, and rejuvenation. (Thank god for winter break lol!) I've been deeply looking forwards to not being inside the brick building that is my high school for 2 weeks. And this weekend, I've had a much needed amount of downtime so far before the bulk of my plans begin this coming week. Let me tell you how good it has felt. I've had time to sleep in with no alarm, I did some yoga this morning, I wrote out a few quotes + affirmations that resonated. I had time to make a freaking smoothie you guys ~ that was big. :-) It's these moments of simplicity that are so reviving for our busy spirits that feel we must remain productive and moving 24/7. Now, don't get me wrong, I definitely need a balance, because I looove my people time, and that fills my cup like no other. However, I also need time and space to ~be~. No agenda, no expectation. With just me.

Our brains get so busy sometimes, it's sooo important to give space to decompress, reflect + resonate in the feeling of simply being human. No more, no less.

I hope you create space for some "being" this coming week, cute souls.

Xx!
